Operation Hunger Freedom: Feeding 1,500 Families This Thanksgiving
Our Thanksgiving community operation is on track to feed 1,500 families. Here's how we're doing it and how you can help.
A Bold Mission
This Thanksgiving, Matcom Office of Public Safety is on a mission: feed 1,500 families across the DMV region.
Operation Hunger Freedom is one of our six community operations — initiatives that extend our commitment to public safety beyond security and into the fabric of the communities we serve.
The Plan
Through partnerships with local food banks, community organizations, and volunteer networks, we're assembling and delivering complete Thanksgiving meals — turkey, sides, and all the essentials — to families who would otherwise go without.
Our Progress
As of June 2026, we've already secured commitments for 1,247 of our 1,500 family goal. That's 83% of our target with five months still to go before Thanksgiving.
How You Can Help
Donate — Every $35 provides a complete Thanksgiving meal for a family of four.
Volunteer — We need drivers, packers, and organizers on distribution day. Partner — If your organization wants to sponsor meals, we'd love to talk.
Why We Do This
